Oranges
It's been a long time since the orange tree had this much fruit. Credit should go to the cow poo used as fertilizer. This also is good for flowering plants and increases the amount of flowering. Still waiting for my Magnolia to bloom, even though every other house has Magnolias flowers in full bloom.
Hello AZ. I have a problem with snails in my garden - causing the holes. There's also infestation of some nasty black spot insect on the orange tree but I can't spray it while the oranges remain to be eaten.
I was reading another garden blog and the woman suggested using kitchen copper scrubbing pads, she sort of unrolls the pads and then she places them around the base of the plant so that the snail won't climb the plant. I've heard that snails don't like to slime their way across anything copper, plus they don't the abrasiveness of the scrubbing pads. Of course with all the plants you have it may cost you a bit to protect all your plants. I’ve not been plagued by snails in my garden, but at my last house I would go out at night and hand pick the slugs, or I wouldn’t have any plants left.
What's nibbling all the holes in the leaves?

ReplyDeleteThanks for the copper hint. Of course I've been out at night with the torch squashing snails but they are in plague proportions.
ReplyDeleteYou have oranges to eat now.
ReplyDeleteBet the oranges are history by now...
ReplyDeleteAZ, I've been having so many problems to deal with that I've completely forgot about the oranges. Will pick them right now.
