Wow, way to make the Bird of Paradise look insignificant! I don't have a Bird of Paradise in my yard, but as I recall the ones I've seen in Arizona are purple and orange, is the one in the photo past its prime?
AZ, the flower is past its prime but still gives a good comparison.

As the saying goes, where there's smoke there's fire. In my case we have lots of smoke but no fire.
